How to Install Wood Trim Around a Bathtub

There is no need to hire contractors if your bathroom remodeling project includes wood trim around the tub. You’ll need to have some basic tools and patience. Installing wood trim round a tub is easy. Just make sure you get the corners right. You can still do this project yourself.

Step 1

Take measurements of your bathtub. These dimensions should be written down, along with brief descriptions of each one so that you are able to remember where they go.

Step 2

Put on safety glasses. Measure, mark, then place the molding using a mitersaw. Set it at a 45-degree angle. Each measurement should be taken into consideration when cutting your molding.

Step 3

Make sure that each piece of wood mold is placed correctly in its place.

Step 4

Let the molding air out for 24 hours.

Step 5

Apply a thin layer of construction adhesive around the tub to fix it. Spread a bit of construction adhesive onto the tub. Next, apply the glue to the wood molding. It will need to dry overnight, or as long the manufacturer specifies before you can use the tub.
